Paradigm Initiative’s 5th Short Film, Whispers in the Wires, is inspired by the organisation’s 2023 Londa Report on digital rights and inclusion in Africa. The film follows Mama Bibi, a retired nurse who accidentally posts a video she was sending to her son on social media. This move eventually turns her into an influencer. She becomes unexpectedly famous, but unapologetically fierce as she finds herself at the heart of a grassroots movement fighting misinformation and confronting unchecked telecommunications and tech power.
