With a diverse professional background that includes experience as a former banker, Sani brings a multidisciplinary perspective to his work, blending technical expertise, policy insight, and on-the-ground program experience.
As a Research Lead, he has designed and led multi-country research projects focused on digital policy, internet connectivity, emerging technologies, and the human rights implications of restrictive digital environments. His work supports evidence-based advocacy and contributes to policy dialogues shaping the future of digital governance across the Global South.
Sani holds an MSc in Remote Sensing and GIS and a diploma certificate in Computer and Network Maintenance, alongside professional certifications in Data Protection and Privacy, AI Ethics, project management and Public Policy. These qualifications strengthen his ability to bridge technical domains with governance, regulation, and rights-based approaches.
He has published analyses in global and regional think tanks and is actively involved in numerous internet governance processes, contributing insights on digital inclusion, standards development, and responsible technology governance. He is a fellow of the African School on Internet Governance.
