Moussou is a Computer Science Engineer, Digital Communications Expert and Founder of Digital Mousso Community. She is part of the IFC External Relations team and is based in Washington, DC.

Moussou joined IFC from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO of the UN) regional office for West Africa and Sahel based in Dakar, where she was the Head of Digital Communication, covering over 17 countries.

Prior to FAO, Moussou worked as Digital Manager for two major telecom operators in Senegal. Moussou is one of the ambassadors of the Network of Bloggers of Senegal and has been a strong proponent of fighting for the rights of women to be better represented in the digital world.

She was nominated as The Digital Woman of the Year in 2015 by the digital community in Senegal, a recognition for her work as a woman who strives to spread and advance digital media and communications in Senegal. With over 26,300 followers on Twitter, Moussou was named by Forbes Africa 2015 as one of the few women in West Africa to innovate in the field of digital communications. She was also nominated by Jeune Afrique as one of the Top 9 Twitter influencers in Senegal in December 2016.

Moussou holds a degree in Computer Science Engineering from The Institut Superieur Informatique in Senegal and a bachelor in Electronics, Computer Science and Technology from the Ecole Superieure Polytechnique in Senegal. She also has roots in Mali, Guinea and Gambia and is passionate about music, arts, fashion, design, reading and sports. Her personal mantra is: “Women, you do not need a diploma—in computer science or in communications. You only need to be passionate and never give up. “
