Jummai Zainab Umar-Ajijola, PhD, is an expert in Organisation Effectiveness (OE), Strategy, Human Development, Technology, Recovery, Peacebuilding, Public Policy, and Wealth Generation, with a global footprint. She has more than three and a half decades of experience and a global footprint across the Public and Private Sectors, International Development Organisations, and International Non-Governmental Organisations.

Dr Umar-Ajijola is the Managing Director of Trade Modernisation Project Limited, the Concessionaire to the Federal Government, in implementing the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) modernisation project. The project will generate significant revenue for the Federal Government over twenty years.

She is the Chief Grand Visioner of The Business People (tbp) Limited, where, for over a decade, she has led a global, youthful and future-thinking organisation that leverages technology to expand the boundaries of productivity and inclusiveness. Before that, she held strategic and leadership positions at Microsoft, ActionAid Nigeria, UNESCO and the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting PLC.

Her significant policy and professional contributions led to her appointment as Executive Secretary of the Muhammadu Buhari Trust Foundation (MBTF) by former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. She combines this with other national and global Board leadership responsibilities at multinational organisations such as Paradigm Initiative and Saleh Ahmadu Foundation. She is a member of the Governing Council of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, and the Garden City Premier Business School, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Dr Umar-Ajijola holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration. Her professional affiliations include Fellowships of several global institutes, including Academy of Engineering and Technology for the Developing World (AETDEW), Malaysia; Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria (Chartered) – ISMN; Institute of Corporate Administration Nigeria (ICAD) and Chartered Institute of Human Capital Development of Nigeria (CIHCDN).

She is an international speaker and sits on the faculty of several leadership institutes and organisations, including the Advisory Council of the International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre (ISTIC), Malaysia. Dr Umar-Ajijola is a United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Expert on Science, Technology and Innovation and a European Union Expert on recovery and peacebuilding.

Dr Umar-Ajijola is an alumnus of the United Nations University, Maastricht, University of Abuja, University of Lagos and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. She is married with children.
