Paradigm Initiative is set to launch a book titled “The Paradigm Initiative Story: A Work In Progress” at the Bread & Net annual convening, which will be held from October 29 to 31, 2025, in Beirut, Lebanon.
The Book launch is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region, marking a significant step in imparting knowledge beyond the African Region in line with PIN’s Strategic Management Plan. The Book was unveiled during the annual Digital Rights and Inclusion Forum (DRIF) in April this year. To launch the book, PIN’s Executive Director, ‘Gbenga Sesan, will host a session titled “Building Resilience and Scaling Social Impact in the Global South.” The session seeks to impart knowledge on organisational resilience by showcasing the establishment, growth, and strides of PIN, a high-impact Global South-based organisation.
The book chronicles Paradigm Initiative’s journey from a Nigerian informal settlement startup to a leading pan-African digital rights and inclusion organisation. Beyond a historical account, the book offers lessons for scaling social enterprises in resource-constrained environments. The session will examine the pivotal role of partnerships, oversight, and accountability that underpinned PIN’s growth. Participants will receive guidance on fundraising, organisational development and navigating the complexities of institution-building in the Global Majority. The session comes at a crucial time when resilience is vital. It will improve participants’ understanding of practical tools for both aspiring and established social impact leaders.
Participants will gain insight into actionable strategies for sustainable growth during crises and a deeper understanding of scaling impactful social enterprises. The session will increase attendees’ knowledge and confidence through the identification of strategies to build resilience.
PIN, a leading social enterprise working to advance digital rights and inclusion in the Global South, will leverage insights to empower a community of digital rights actors in the MENA region. Bread & Net is an annual “unconference” that brings together activists, technologists, journalists, and policymakers to discuss and reimagine digital rights and social justice in the Arabic-speaking region. Organised by SMEX, Bread & Net offers a collaborative space for learning, strategising and building networks of solidarity.
PIN’s participation underscores a commitment to ensuring that all technological advancements and policies globally translate into greater digital freedoms and opportunities, not restrictions.
