#PINternetFreedom Chat With Tope Ogundipe (@Tope_Ogundipe)

In August 2014 a coalition of individuals, organizations, and entities by the name NetRightsNG joined forces to work with all stakeholders towards a Nigerian Digital Rights and Freedom Bill. NetRightsNG is open to Nigerians, Nigerian organizations or Nigerian partners who share common ideals and are willing to join forces and resources. The secretariat of NetRightsNG is hosted by Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN). Stakeholders use mailing lists for communications and a web site is available on http://www.netrights.ng. Communications on Social Media platforms linked to the initiatives is generall tagged #NetRightsNG. A Twitter handle (@NetRightsNg) is also available, as well as a Facebook page.

Tope has worked for Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN) as Chief Operating Officer since 2012, where she has helped manage projects with diverse stakeholders, while supervising the operations of four offices across Nigeria. Through her work at PIN and the organization’s competencies in ICT for development, she continues to provide a fresh perspective on the subject of empowerment and rights for women and girls for CSOs, advocates, policy makers and other organizations that work around women empowerment issues. Specifically she has played an active role delivering on ICT policy advocacy in Nigeria, demonstrating unreserved passion for women and girl’s access to technology and training in under-served communities through awareness campaigns, capacity building programs, research and reports. She is also currently serving as an expert consultant with World Wide Web Foundation on Empowerment for women and girls in Nigeria through the Web.

With a B.Sc in Urban and Regional Planning and a wealth of experience in youth advocacy and community development, Temitope has worked with GTZ/Wilbahi before PIN to facilitate StakeHolder Integration Workshops across oil producing communities in Nigeria for the development of the Niger Delta Development Commission {N.D.D.C} Master plan.
