Follow PIN’s Sessions and Participation at RightsCon 2022

Paradigm Initiative will be hosting two sessions, and some team members taking part in three other sessions at The 11th edition of RightsCon starting on Monday, June 6 to Friday, June 10, 2022. Join us in our respective sessions and panel discussions on thematic issues and to know more about our work at Paradigm Initiative.

The organisation will be massively represented by ‘Gbenga Sesan – PIN’s Executive Director, Thobekile Matimbe – Community Manager, Rigobert Kenmogne – Program Officer, Francophone Africa, Khadijah El-Usman – Program Officer, Anglophone West Africa, and Bulanada Nkhowani – Program Officer, Southern Africa.

 June 7, 2022, | 1:15 – 2:15 pm WAT: Driving corporate action towards responsible and ethical artificial intelligence, ‘Gbenga Sesan PIN’s Executive Director will be a speaker on this panel.

 June 7, 2022, | 2:30 – 3:30 pm WAT: Internet shutdowns during elections and crisis in Central Africa: the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Cameroon, and Chad. Session hosted by Paradigm Initiative and moderated by Rigobert Kenmogne – Program Officer – Francophone Africa.

 June 8, 2022, | 8:15 – 9:15 am WAT: Social hour for African activists and allies, Khadijah El-Usman – Program Officer, Anglophone West Africa, will be a panelist in this very interesting session.

 June 9, 2022 | 3:45 – 4:45pm WAT: Protection or paranoia? Content moderation and its impact on fundamental rights in Africa. Session hosted by Paradigm Initiative where Thobekile Matimbe – Community Manager, Bulanda Nkhowani – Program Officer, Southern Africa, and Rigobert Kenmogne – Program Officer, Francophone Africa will all be touching the freedom of expression online and contents, a session you must follow.

 June 10, 2022, | 3:30 – 4:30 pm WAT: Building a global digital authoritarianism index. ‘Gbenga Sesan PIN’s Executive Director and a host of other experts will be exchanging at this Concordia University, Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) session.
