An Overview of Digital Rights in the Global South

This will be an introductory session for the course, providing an overview of the content and a summary of the main concepts of technology and human rights. The session will commence with international standards that situate digital rights in the human rights context and draw from international human rights standards. Students will gain an understanding of digital rights and digital threats, including policies that anchor digital rights.
