Today on our Echoes From LIFE series, we profile Fatai Jubril, a 2013 AjegunleLIFE alumni and a 400 level student of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN):
Before AjegunleLIFE, Fatai was an aspiring DJ who mostly practiced in his home to the entertainment of his siblings and friends. He also helped his father with his retail drinks business.
“I was always full of self-doubt and had this plaguing thought that I wouldn’t be able to succeed at anything.” But going to the program changed Fatai a great deal. The skills he acquired helped him improve his confidence and the entrepreneurship and life-skills classes taught him that success wasn’t a function of luck. “I now know the things I had to do in order to succeed.” He said.
After the program, Fatai launched his DJ skills outside his home. He was determined to make a career of it and he began to bid for jobs. Today, Fatai is making a success of his DJ business and also studying mass communication at the National Open University Nigeria (NOUN) and is popularly known in his community as DJ Fabulous. He has played at numerous wedding ceremonies, birthday parties and anniversaries. “I have Paradigm Initiative to thank for making me a man everyone loves to listen to.”
